Stakeholder involvement throughout the course of planning is important to ensure an open, transparent, and inclusive decision-making process. Part of initiating the Santa Clara Valley HCP planning process involved convening a Stakeholder Group of approximately 25 members representing a wide variety of interests including conservation organizations, business and development interests, landowners, agricultural interests, open space land-management organizations, and the general public. The Stakeholder Group meets monthly to review technical and policy issues and to make recommendations to staff and elected officials. Meetings are on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
